The Sunbreak is a massive expansion of Monster Hunter Rise, which takes the players to an entirely new region filled with powerful, deadly monsters. This expansion has added a whole list of new monsters who will give even the most skilled players a hard time. Complete List of Monsters and Variants in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak
The Monster Hunter Rise is one of the most popular action role-playing games on Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows. On 30th June 2022, an expansion of this game was released named Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. This new installment has several powerful monsters that players need to defeat to progress through the game. Because the game is new, we haven’t yet explored the entire game and encountered every monster. So, players may not find all the monsters in this list, but we’ll update as we find more monsters-
Monsters | Description |
Daimyo Hornetaur | This is the first enemy players will face. It is a giant crab monster with a skull shell. But this is relatively easy to beat this monster if you keep a few things in mind. Don’t break the shell completely; also, don’t hit it while it’s shielding because it’ll attack you back. Another thing you must watch out for is its stream of water attack. |
Garangolm | This is a giant Gorilla like enemy and one of the most powerful bosses in the game. In the beginning, it will be difficult to fight him, but later, when his armor cracks, it’ll be more difficult as it will go in the air and starts attacking the players more frequently. |
Lunagaron | Lunagaron is the second of the three lords and is a big werewolf. It is a wolf-like monster who becomes a werewolf when gets angry. He is an aggressive enemy, standing on two feet and trying to slash players with its claws. |
Shogun Ceanataur | It is another giant crab with big claws. This crab has deadly blades that can take away tons of your health. Shogun Ceanataur doesn’t always have his blades out, but when it does and jumps at you, try to go away from him as much as possible. |
Seregios | It is another challenging enemy that deals a ton of damage. It has spikes on its tail which inflict Bleed. It is an aggressive enemy and extremely difficult to dodge. Therefore, players must watch out for its attack and try to protect themselves as much as possible. |
Astalos | This is an aggressive monster and extremely difficult to deal with because of its thunder attacks. It throws thunder attacks frequently and slams its wings on the ground to create electric AOEs. Also, it makes a chain of thunder AOEs while running towards you and hitting its wings on the floor. Astalos can give even the best players a challenging fight. |
Blood Orange Bishaten | This monster throws explosives at the players, which deal tons of damage. Players need to roll on the ground to stop the fire. It has lots of unique attacks that players must watch out for. |
Aurora Somnacanth | Aurora Somnacanth is the new variant of the old standard Somnacanth. It has some new attacks and some old attacks. It has an attack that inflicts ice along with the old Sleep powers. |
Magma Almudron | This is also a variant creature of the previous Almudron. It has some new attacks like throwing several slowly flowing lava toward you during the fight and summons Exploding Rocks. But it has one deadly attack- when it suddenly comes out of the ground and lands on its tail. Keep as much distance as possible; otherwise, you’ll be caught in the big explosion it causes. |
Espinas | Espinas is one of the most annoying monsters in the game, but it is also dangerous. It inflicts paralysis, Poison, and Fireblight with its breath attack. Try to avoid these attacks and bring some medicines to heal poison. |
Garismagorm | Garismagorm is probably the final boss in the game. Its appearance resembles Narwa and Ibushi, with crystal growths on its back. The fight has three phases because it is challenging to defeat this monster. Try to stay away from its mouth and hit on its hands. He throws rubble from its mouth and tries to suck the players in. Hide from it, protect yourself. |
Furious Rajang | This is also a Variant of the standard Rajang. This monster is always in an aggressive mood and throws lots of thunders at the players. It has a thunder dash that it can perform twice repeatedly. Also, it throws projectiles and cracks the ground with its hand to create an AOE attack. |
Malzeno | Malzeno is another challenging monster with two phases of the fight. It is a mighty Elder Dragon with some deadly attacks like- Wing Slams, Tail Swipes, Wind Tremor, Earth Shattering, Qurio attacks, and Breathing Fire. Qurio is a group of red moths that feed on life; if you encounter them, you’ll lose lots of your health. |
Pyre Rakna-Kadaki | It is a variant of Rakna- Kadaki. Though the previous monster was not problematic to handle, the new variant is tricky to defeat. It breathes fire that players need to avoid and uses its web as a detonation cord and the small spiders as the explosives to create a big explosion. |
Shagaru Magala | It is also a powerful Elder Dragon with several dangerous attacks like Purple Explosions, beams, Ground Slams, Shoulder Barges, etc., that players must avoid during the fight. |
These are the monsters and variants available in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. As we have previously said that we haven’t yet explored the whole game; therefore, you may not find all the monsters on the list, but we will update the guide as we find more monsters further in the game.
