To get the required amount of Killstreaks to obtain rewards, you can check your Weapons tab on the menu and select the Killstreak option. It is detailed how many kills are required to progress through the rewards tab. If you perish, your progress will be reset. In the case of Scorestreaks, if you are more accustomed to completing tasks, then collecting points from objectives will give you enough Scorestreaks. The same technique in Killstreaks applies for Scorestreaks as well, that is, if you perish, your progress will be reset. You can check your Scorestreak progress by using the in-game HUD to check your points. In case you cannot view it, you can turn it on from the Killstreaks menu tab.
Once you get the required amount of kills or scores, you can unlock various perks that can help you while on the field. You can toggle between the perks for killstreaks and scorestreaks by clicking on the Scorestreak button on the bottom left side of the screen. You can check out the objective that you need to clear for each perk by clicking on the perk and checking the box above the perk name. Once you get the perk, you can equip it by clicking on the acquired perk and pressing the Equip button.
There is a trick where you can reduce the reward points needed during a kill streak or scorestreak, and you can do that by equipping the Hardline perk in the custom loadouts section. You can unlock custom loadouts after reaching level 4, and once you have that down, you can equip the Hardline perk to reduce the point cost by 125 points or one kill. So, you progress quicker, you will need one kill less or fewer points than usual.
