Choices that Impact Ending in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
As you start the game you don’t have to worry about important game-changing decisions. The first decision or choice that can have an effect on the ending presents itself in Chapter 7 of the game when you come across Raker. In the chapters that follow, you will come across other opportunities that can have a huge impact on the story. Here are the choices that can impact how the story of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy unfolds in the final stages.
Chapter 7 – Allow Gamora to Chase Raker
In chapter 7 of the game while you are at Hala’s Hope you will notice Raker, the main antagonist of the game. Gamora wants to follow and take out Raker all on her own. If you choose to follow Gamora, she will have to help you as you fall and Raker will get away. On the other hand, allowing her to go alone will ease the final fight as Gamora takes out one of the hands of the Raker weakening him.
Chapter 8 – Helping Cosmo
When you return to Knowhere to see Cosmo, you find that’s he’s succumbed to The Promise and is not in the right state of mind. He will use his psychic ability to freeze the team. At this point, you will have a series of choices that you need to make to help Cosmo. If you choose to help Cosmo, the combat in chapter 15 will be eased greatly.
Chapter 9 – Getting the Worldmind on your Side
The Worldmind is the Nova supercomputer that you need to convince to help your cause. You will come across this choice when you are in chapter 9 and travel to New Xandar for the purpose of speaking to the supercomputer. While the computer won’t help you right away, if you make the right choices, the computer will take out a large number of powerful enemies right before your encounter with the Raker. If your choices did not convince the Worldmind, the fight leading up to the game’s end will be tougher.
Chapter 9 – Paying the Nova Fine
You will have come across the fine you need to pay Nova Corps in chapter 2, but the fine actually gets paid in chapter 9 after meeting the supercomputer. Paying the fine will grant you the Galactic Frugality achievement. Not paying the fine will have the Nova Corp leaving Milano to float in space. While the choice has an impact on the ending, it’s not significant. Not paying on the other hand will help you when you launch New Game + as you will still have all the credits.
So, these are the four choices in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy that have an impact on the final stages of the game or the ending.
