You can find Maliketh in Crumbling Farum Azula. You can reach it after completing the quests in the Mountaintop of the Giants region. You will have to talk to her after sinning, and while resting at the Forge of the Giants Site of Grace. After talking to her, she will transport you to Crumbling Farum Azula. Maliketh’s lair is beside the Great Bridge Site of Grace.
Crumbling Farum Azula is home to other bosses besides Maliketh, like Godskin Duo and Dragonlord Placidusax. The area itself is swarming with Dragons, Gnolls, and Bladed Talon Eagles.
When you first try to find Maliketh, it will be initially known as Gurranq, the Beast Clergyman. After reducing its health in half, it will reveal its true identity as Maliketh, the Black Blade.
- You can summon another player to help you with the boss fight.
- Summoning a Mimic Tear Spirit will give you the best chance at survival.
- Even though its health is now in half, you should still be wary of its attacks, especially when it lunges with its weapon.
- Use Ash of War that inflicts Bleed status to reduce its health down even more.
- Keep your Sacred Flask with you at all times and replenish your health before it hits less than 50%
- Maliketh will attack you with both ranged and melee weapons. Avoid its blade while it swings or tries to pound the ground.
- Avoid its blade at all costs since it will take large and quick swings. It will also create a circular dome-like structure around it by swinging its blade fast, which will cut you if you get close.
- It will let out a roar now and then, but it doesn’t do that much damage. It is still best to stir clear.
- Range and Magic-users would have better luck at defeating it than melee users since Maliketh is so quick that you will need to dodge a lot.
- Maliketh will pound the ground by jumping high into the air and jabbing its weapon on the ground. If you see it jump, it is best to avoid the area.
- While it hits the ground after its jump, you can run behind it and slash it a couple of times.
- If you have the Blasphemous Claw after defeating Recusant Bernahl earlier, you can use that to deflect the black blade’s power.
Ultimately you will be able to bring its health down completely, but it will take some time to get to that point. Just keep a Sacred Flask on you at all times to not get caught up with low health. You will get 220,000 Runes and Remembrance of the Black Blade as your reward.
