Genshin Impact has recently revealed some official character cards for their upcoming 5-star Dendro bow user Tighnari. Tighnari’s banner drops the same day as Version 3.0, which is the 24th of August 2022. Recently, Genshin’s official account released some Tighnari character cards revealing more about this new character’s history, affiliations, likes, and dislikes.
Who is Tighnari in Genshin Impact
The first character card reveals his role as a playable character and his kit. They also reveal the casting choices for the voice actors for this character. His English VA is Elliot Gindi, and his Japanese VA is Kobayashi Sanae.
His constellation is titled Vulpes Zerda, and his birthday is December 29th. According to the character card, his role will be that of a burst-DPS. A burst-DPS is a character player who will switch to cast their elemental burst, deal tons of damage in that short time, and switch back to their main DPS or support units.
As we’ve seen in the trailer, his Charged Attack or Aimed Shot mode has two levels. In its second level, he can shoot a Wreath Arrow, which will generate Clusterbloom Arrows upon first damaging an enemy. These Clusterbloom Arrows will then automatically track nearby opponents and hit them.
His E skill creates a field of Confusion where enemies are taunted to stay within that field and are prevented from attacking any players. In this state, Tighnari’s Charged Shot Level 2 will require less charge time. His elemental burst is the same as his 2nd Level Charged Shot- except it auto-aims towards nearby enemies, and the damage is higher.
We also confirmed his ascension materials which were already leaked a few weeks ago. Leveling up and ascending him will require the Dendro elemental crystals, Crystalline Cyst Dust (dropped by Floating Fungi), Lunar Lotus, and the missing question mark is most likely the Majestic Hooked Beak dropped by Jadeplume Terrorshrooms.
His Talent level-up materials are one of the Sumeru Talent Tablets, Crystallising Cyst Dust, and a special boss drop from Inazuma’s Raiden Shogun weekly boss.
Story
According to his story, Tighnari serves as the Avidya Forest Watcher, protecting the inhabitants of Gandharva Ville and aiding lost travelers and merchants in the forest grounds. He’s not entirely human as he has long ears that resemble foxes, even though leaks reveal his species is much closer to that of dogs.
His dialogue and mannerisms reveal him to be a simple, kind, and helpful person- yet alert and shrewd in his judgments and decisions. His tone is direct, and he’s known to be vexed at those who don’t act wisely even after instruction.
That said, he’s also a patient person considering he took Collei under his wing. Collei is known to be slow and bad at human and social interactions, which Tighnari instructs her on.
Hearsay
Tighnari speaks this character card, and he talks about his profession, hobbies, and favorite food.
Tighnari is an ex-scholar who studied Botany in the Amurta Darshan of Sumeru Akademiya. His teachers wanted him to join the faculty after graduation, but his heart wasn’t in it. He wanted to be free and conduct his research freely in the environment. He also had disagreements with the ways the Akademiya handles certain matters.
His hobbies are collecting flowers and leave that drops intact on the forest floor. He uses them for research and decorative purposes. Sometimes he even uses them as educational materials for his fellow Forest Rangers.
His favorite food, despite having carnivore blood running through him, he eats mushrooms. According to him, whether fresh or dried, mushrooms give off this unique scent which he is a fan of.
Tighnari is a character who seems to wear his heart on his sleeve. He has a direct but astute approach to things, and he can always be relied on by his student Collei and the villagers of Gandharva Ville. Players can look forward to meeting him in Sumeru and completing quests with him too.
