Since the NPCs in Coral Island have various jobs to perform, to upgrade your tools you need to find the Blacksmith. Pablo is the resident Blacksmith in Coral Island, and you can find his shop northeast of your farmland in the Woodland area. Whenever his shop is open, just pop in and select the equipment that needs an upgrade. The list of items required will pop up, and once you have all the materials, you can head back to Pablo to upgrade your tool. Once he starts the upgrade process, you cannot use that tool till the speculated time is up, so be sure to finish any work that requires that tool before you hand it in. The first level of upgrades will turn your equipment and tools into Bronze items, and as you keep progressing you can level them up even further. Leveling up your tools is essential in the late game, especially if you are trying to explore the mines and caverns in the game.
