Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world RPG game set in the wizarding world. The game takes inspiration from the Harry Potter world but is set way before the movie and the events of the book. The game was released on 10th February for PC and the latest consoles but it will be released on April 4th for PS4 and Xbox One and 25th July for Switch.
Other than Main Storyline, Hogwarts Legacy have many side quests to complete, puzzles to find, spells to discover and beasts to rescue. One of the puzzles to solve is finding a Daedalian key for various cabinets scattered inside the castle.
In this guide, you will learn about what are the requirements to unlock the cabinets in Hogwarts Legacy and the locations of the Daedalian keys.
How to unlock Cabinets in Hogwarts Legacy?
To be able to unlock cabinets, players first need to get the quest called the Daedalian Keys. The requirement to get the quest is to open the Owl mail sent by Professor Fig which will start the main Quest called the Locker’s Secret. After opening the mail, players will need to go to Transfiguration Courtyard to meet Nellie Ogspire, who is standing in front of the big tree.
Nellie will then explain to players, how to unlock the cabinets, here are the steps:
- Players first need to find the keys, just like page guides keys will also fly around when players are near them.
- Players after finding the key will need to follow the key as it will roam around until it reaches the cabinet
- Upon reaching the cabinet, players will need to wait for the key to get into the position so that they can slam the key into the lock and unlock the cabinets.
Note: Players will need to anticipate the movement of the key to get it into the lock and when it is above the lock press the X or Square button to put the key inside.
There are a total of 16 Daedalian keys that players need to find to complete the Daedalian keys quest. The location of the keys is as follows:
- Astronomy Tower (near the staircase)
- Grand Staircase (on the 3rd level)
- Great Hall (near the fireplace)
- Entrance Hall (near staircase)
- Quad Courtyard (near Levioso statue)
- Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom (near the Skeleton)
- North Hall (bottom of the Staircase)
- Dungeon 1 (near the sleeping dragon statue)
- Dungeon 2 ((in the hallway)
- Potions Classroom (in the front of the classroom)
- Central Hall 1 (north of the fountain, above on the left)
- Central Hall 2 (underneath the large staircase)
- Library (west side)
- Faculty Tower 1 (second floor)
- Faculty Tower 2 (hospital wing)
- Clock Tower (lowest level)
Note: 14, 15 and 16 are locked behind doors so players need to learn Alohomora spell to unlock the doors first)
