Sometimes, you might want to split up large chunks of resources and shift them out of your inventory. Splitting resources can help you manage your inventory space, and you can store away items you don’t need. If you need just a handful of the items in your inventory but not the whole bunch, you can keep some of them in storage spaces. You can craft storage spaces like wooden boxes to make it easy to manage your resources. If you have excess items, you can store some away here. To shift items from your inventory to a storage space, click on the storage unit and you get a new window. You will see the inventory bar on the right side and your current inventory at the middle of the screen. 

To split your resources, Right Mouse Click on the items and drag it to the inventory bar on the right. A small pop up will appear where you can input the amount of the item you wish to stow away. Click on confirm to move your selection to the storage unit. You have now split the item into two, and you can access them in both, the inventory and the storage unit, anytime.
