You can take a trip to Hogsmeade and sell any equipment you no longer need. As you progress through the game, you will only equip gear that will give you higher stats than the rest, so the others can be discarded at shops. This is also a great way to get extra cash if you are in a pinch. To sell your wares, just visit any shop in Hogsmeade and interact with them to get the shop menu. On the right side of the screen, you can access your inventory, and over here you can select the gear you wish to get rid of. It will also show you the cost of selling each equipment. The only store that will not accept any gear is Madam Snelling’s Tress Emporium, the hairdressing salon.
Now that you have learned to reduce your stock of unwanted gear, you will also have to keep a tab on the gear you do have. As you progress through the game, you will find better gear from completing quests and raiding chests, and you would have to swap them out with the ones that are equipped. You can also check in on Gladrags Wizardwear to get updated gear and unlock better boosts.
