Savescum Method: Does It Work in War in Victoria 3?
If you’ve played Victoria II, you should be familiar with the crisis system, which is basically when a country wishes to conquer the lands of another. There is a similar system in Victoria 3 where players will be able to enter into a Diplomatic Play. Sometimes, they will be able to bargain their way out before it all goes south. And other times, the countries will go to war, and you need to be prepared when that happens.

In case you’re having trouble deciding what to do during a diplomatic play, there is a sort of cheat that you can use. Savescumming is a method that players use, where they save before an important decision is made just so that they can see the outcome.
You will be able to do this for Victoria 3 as well, especially during the early stages of the Diplomatic Play. Make sure to save before taking a risky decision. You will need to examine the countries that you can count on to be on your side and scope which ones will take the enemy’s side. Keep a note of them when you play your turn.
If the Diplomatic Play turns out in your favor, you just need to continue playing as well.
