Turtle Rock Studios’s Back 4 Blood has a new expansion called Tunnels of Terror. The first-person shooter game was published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and is a challenging run with elements of player-versus-environment and multiplayer where a player can join a team to fight their way through zombie-like monsters. This guide will explain what Trauma is in the game and take you through the process of how to recover from it in Back 4 Blood.
What is Trauma and How to Recover from it in Back 4 Blood
The new mechanism in the game adds an edge to it by raising the difficulty. Whenever you lose some health as you fight your way through enemies, you will need to use healing items. However, you will also take a hit to your max health when you lose health, which is essentially what Trauma is.

After you take damage, the maximum amount of health that you can have will be reduced. If your health is 100 before taking damage, it might become 95 after, and not increase beyond that as that is the max capacity for the health bar now. If you take a look at your game screen, the white bar is the current health that you have, the red part is the health that you can get back by consuming healing items, and the black part is the Trauma.
To recover from Trauma and get your normal health back, you will need to finish a level in a safe room which returns a little bit of your health, or look for a First Aid Cabinet. These usually require a Tool Kit to open, but there is a chance that there is one that is unlocked. You can also use specific cards that will aid your recovery from Trauma for a run. Additionally, if you have a Doc in your team, the entire team will gain 20% resistance to Trauma.
