To trap a turkey, you first need to craft a small trap. You can unlock traps under the Animal Breeding skill in your Knowledge and Technology tree. There are various types of traps you can unlock, but for now you require the small trap. Next, head over to your workbench and craft the small trap using 19x Branches, 10x Clay, and 5x Thick Rope. Next, walk around your settlement to locate Turkeys. You can use the Habit Analyzer skill to track down any turkey nearby.
Once you spot turkeys, lay down the small trap close to them and place a bug inside. You can capture bugs using the bug net. After that, try and kill any adult turkey roaming nearby, as you require only the baby turkey to take the bait. Wait for the baby turkey chick to walk into the trap and capture it. You can then take it back to your settlement and place it inside a Turkey Pen. Feed it the required food and water to make it grow stronger.
