If you wish to own a Mount, you first need to find any unaware machine and override them. To override a machine, you just have to sneak up behind them and interact with them by pressing the required button. You can unlock various machine overriding abilities for each machine throughout the game. Initially, you will already be equipped with the Charger override.
While you can override all machines once you unlock the ability, there are only four machines that you can use for traveling; Charger, Clawstrider, Bristleback, and Sunwing. To unlock all the machine override abilities, you will have to complete all the four Cauldrons that are scattered around the Horizon Forbidden West’s map.
