Turtles are found on the beach, but there are also some large stone pillars here. You will need to fix all of them in order to clear the vines on the beach and unlock the area. In fact, it is the vines that make the turtles afraid. In order to clear them, you will need to find an orb for the stone pillars, which is part of the main story mission.
Once you’ve fixed the orb onto the stone and cleared up the beach of vines, the turtles won’t shy away from you anymore. You will now be able to interact with them simply by approaching the creatures. On getting close, you will get some options on what you want to feed them.
The favorite food of a turtle is Seaweed. You will be able to get a lot of it on the beach and feed them. If you’re not sure where to find some, you can check out our guide on Where to Find Seaweed in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
