The Floating Fungi is a new mob monster added to the Chasm and they drop special materials which as of now no character or weapon in Genshin Impact uses for their ascension. These enemies belong to the Fungi family which will be fully added in the Sumeru Update in Version 3.0. It’s wise to farm these creatures when we still can as chances are new Sumeru characters will use this material for their ascension.
How to Farm Floating Fungi in Genshin Impact
The Floating Fungi spawn only in the underground depths of the Chasm and there are a total of 25 Hydro Floating Fungi that can be farmed each day. Their drop rate is similar to that of basic hilichurls and they aren’t difficult to kill. Players should farm these before Sumeru drops so that they can readily ascend their newly acquired Dendro characters.
Below are the locations of all the clusters of the Floating Fungi in the Underground Chasm. They spawn near the water so just follow the waterways in the marked locations.
- Teleport to the south-eastern waypoint first and glide down to collect the Floating Fungis there.
- Next, teleport to the Glowing Narrows waypoint and follow the route to gather all the Floating Fungis in the area.
- Finally, teleport to the north-eastern waypoint in the Main Mining Area and head west until you reach the cliff to glide down into the pool of water below.
The Floating Fungi have a chance to drop Fungal Spores if they are low-leveled, Luminescent Pollen if they are level 40 or above, and Crystalline Cyst Dust if they are level 60 or above. There is currently only a total of 25 Floating Fungi so you needn’t spend a long time farming this creature either. According to leaks, Tighnari will use this drop as his ascension material.
