Barbara, in Genshin Impact Version 3.0 was buggy to the point she was broken but in Version 3.1, the bug with her Hydro application ICD has been fixed. She may have been nerfed but it doesn’t change the fact that Bloom Barbara is still good. Read on to find out how you can build a Bloom Barbara and use her in your Dendro comps.
Bloom Barbara in Genshin Impact’s Dendro Meta
Barbara is one of the best characters to use for Bloom in the Dendro meta. She’s not only a F2P character but also one that can double up as a healer for your Dendro teams. While her healing may not be on par with any healer build in the game, it should still be enough healing to get the job done.
Bloom Barbara primarily relies on her E skill to apply Hydro and cause bloom so players need not even build ER for her burst. Her required stats are thus EM followed by HP. Since her E skill surrounds your active character in a small AoE, she’s very good in teams where your active character is melee like Keqing or Burgeon Thoma.
You can use her as a solo Bloom DPS where you stack as much EM as possible on her kit or you can even choose a more flexible build where she not only gives EM but also functions as a decent healer. Keeping her flexible also allows her to synergise in Burgeon and Hyperbloom comps.
Artifacts
Her best set for a Bloom-focused DPS build is the Gilded Dreams set. However, if you’re going for a flexible balanced build, you can choose 2 pc bonuses of various artifact sets as per your stat needs. Some of her best sets are as follows:
- Tenacity of Millelith (2 pc)
- Maiden’s Beloved (2 pc)
- Ocean Hued Clam (2 pc)
- Gilded Dreams (4 pc)
- Instructors (2 pc)
The stat requirements are EM and HP. For maximum damage you can go for a triple-EM build. For a bit of healing support, you can opt for double-EM and the last one can be either a Healing Bonus or an HP% artifact.
Weapons
Barbara’s best weapon for a Bloom build is undoubtedly the Sacrificial Fragments. This catalyst has a secondary EM stat which benefits a Bloom Barbara. Its ability also allows you to use your E skill a second time, immediately after the roster has been set. You can also use other EM weapons like the new Wandering Evenstar which aren’t the best but they still get the job done.
Team Comps
Barbara’s best team comps include the Dendro Traveler and a shielder. This shielder could be Zhongli or even Diona depending on your options and preferences. With Diona you can build a Fridge team but Zhongli ensures your team is nigh unkillable.
The fourth slot is a flex slot wherein you can put another support Dendro like Collei for the Dendro Resonance. You can also have another Hydro like Kokomi or Xinqiu in the team provided they don’t mess up your Bloom cores. You can also use Anemo units like Kazuha, Sucrose and Venti to suck up the Bloom cores on the field and have them all explode nearer to the enemies.
Personally, we love the flexible build as it’s easy to build and doesn’t require you to hyper invest into her kit just to test her out. She may not be fit for the role of a Bloom DPS like Nilou but she doubles up as a reliable unit with healing built into her E skill. Since Sumeru dropped, many players have been building her and thus our local diva is reliably back in the meta and we hope this doesn’t change.
