Some of them are optional, whom players can avoid.
This guide will tell you how to beat Malenia, Blade of Miquella in Elden Ring.
Malenia, Blade of Miquella Boss in Elden Ring- How to Defeat?
Malenia is the twin sister of Miquella and one of the strongest enemies you face in the game. Though she is an optional boss that players can avoid, be careful of her deadly attacks if you have decided to fight with her. You can find her at the bottom of Elphael, Brace of the haligtree. Get down the stairs from the Haligtree Roots Site of Grace to reach the boss fight arena. This boss fight will be one of the most challenging ones, and you have to face her in two phases before you take her down.
In the first phase, Malenia begins with a giant sword, and the most important thing to remember during this phase is that with every successful hit on you, Malenia can heal herself. Her each successful hit wipes out your Health bar. Therefore, the best option for you during this fight is to dodge and avoid her attacks as much as possible. Sometimes try to move to her side. It’ll save you from many of her attacks. Moreover, always keep distance from her. Don’t go near the boss; otherwise, you’ll get killed by her. Malenia can revive 300 to 400 HP per successful hit, even if you block the attack.
When Malenia comes to 75% health, she will unlock her Waterfowl Dance attack. It is the deadliest attack where she can dive on you with three AOE slashes followed by one big AOE slash at the end. It is hard to avoid, but one good thing is you will know beforehand when she unlocks the attack.
Phase two of the fight begins with a cutscene where Malenia will spread her wings and get more new abilities along with the previous ones. In this phase, she begins with diving attacks which are followed by Scarlet Aeonia. She can now dive on you, triggering Scarlet Rot explosion; cast Waterfowl Dance to affect you with Scarlet Rot, and bombard you with Scarlet Rot butterflies.
It is difficult to take down Malenia. You can’t stop her from healing herself even if you block her attacks. Sometimes her attacks make shields useless, so it is better to use a good shield to protect yourself from her Waterfowl Dance. It is the best option to avoid her attacks while continuously hitting her. After you successfully avoid the Scarlet Aeonia, there will be a gap of 5 to 7 seconds when Malenia can’t move; it is the best time for you to attack her with your best weapon. Malenia is particularly weak to the weapons with Bleed damage. If you use weapons that cause blood loss, you can stop her from healing herself. You can use suitable Ash of War to deal bleed damage to Malenia. Alternatively, you can use frostbite. She is weak to frostbite as well. If you are using Magic, use Comet Azur to wipe out 30% of her HP before she becomes active. Repeat this process every time you avoid the Scarlet Aeonia, and she will be paused for a few seconds. It is the best opportunity to inflict heavy damage on her. Players can summon their preferred Spirit Ash-like MimicTear during this fight.
