The global PC market saw a 16.2% overall decline in shipment in 2022 compared to the 2021 peak. For the fourth consecutive time, the quarter PC shipment saw a decline. Q4 2022 YoY was 28% lower.
Despite the decline, the Global PC market is seeing a positive future. Global PC shipment was still 9% higher than pre-pandemic. This gave the market some sense of relief as they are still some positives.
Lenovo despite seeing a decline of 29% YoY, is still no.1 in shipment with 15.5 million units in Q4 and 68.1 million total units in 2022 (17% decline).
HP also saw a decline of 37% YoY and is still second with a shipment of 10.8 million units in Q4 and 55.2 million total units in 2022 (25% decline).
After that third was Dell with 10.8 million units in Q4 2022 (37% decline YoY) and fourth was Apple and so on.
Despite every PC company seeing a decline, it is still positive when compared to pre-pandemic. The demand for laptops and desktops is still growing as new powerful technology arrives in the market.
Despite the decline in demand for PC, Lenovo is maintaining its lead in the Global PC market with HP, Dell and Apple not far behind.
