While exploring the western section of Qiaoying Village, you might find two strange men guarding the entrance of the cave. When you talk to them, you will find out that their names are Coiled Serpent and Sitting Tiger. They will tell you not to come any closer, so you have to find another way inside the cave and figure out what they are hiding. To do this, you need to find a broken Ruin Guard and activate it using the Ruin Machine Core. We have a guide covering how you can get the Ruin Machine Core in Genshin Impact 4.4

Take the core back to the Ruin Guard and activate it to start a fight. After the fight is over, you will get access to the back of the cave that was guarded by Coiled Serpent and Sitting Tiger. Defeat the enemies inside and free the merchant before you can unlock the chests within.
