Diluc Ragvindr has been a popular character since the beginning of the game- both for his high meta-defining DPS capability and his Batman-like personality. While he has fallen off the meta today, people still use him as a viable Pyro unit for his personality and high damage. With the release of Jean’s skin in Version 1.6 when The Golden Apple Archipelago first dropped, fans were already expecting skins for other standard banner 5-stars.
With the release of Version 2.8 Summer Fantasia, Genshin Impact finally honors one of its most popular characters with the first 5-star skin. This is not just a skin for a 5-star but the skin itself has a 5-star rarity due to its many effects. In this article, we’ll look at what changes this new skin causes and if it’s worth it.
Diluc’s 5-Star Skin in Genshin Impact 2.8
Diluc’s new skin does not feature his Pyro vision anywhere in its ensemble. It’s a red- almost crimson skin which adds new voicelines to his attacks and attack sounds. It also adds a metallic tone to the swings of his claymore.
Sound changes aside, the biggest change it does is in the graphics and animations. Diluc’s flaming claymore from his elemental skill is now a crimson or scarlet shade of red- instead of the usual orange and red. The animations are cleaner and have a more contrasty look to them. Even the Phoenix emanating from his burst has sharper deep scarlet wings and after launching into the distance, it flies up to disappear. The skin perfectly matches the color palette of Wolf’s Gravestone which is the best weapon for Diluc.
As for the cost, it’s roughly 20$ and thus quite costly for a mere skin with a few special effects. We only recommend it for die-hard Diluc fans or those with enough money to spare. It does make playing Diluc look cooler and thus a tad bit more fun but it’s much better to spend that spare money on newer characters than character skins.
