There are various ways to dodge the enemy’s attack but parrying their attack gives players extra opportunities to get a few extra hits in. A successful parry not only negates the attack but also staggers the enemy for extra hits which makes the parry mechanic very valuable. This guide will show and explain to you how to parry and what is stagger and riposte in Enshroued.

Parry, Stagger and Riposte explained

Enshrouded gives players many ways to parry as they parry with the weapon or the shield. The only difference is about the parry power enlisted on the weapon. The parry power is a value that can be seen on weapons or shields and it shows the amount of stagger that weapon or shield can do to the enemy (if successfully parried). The higher the parry power the more stagger value players can do to the enemies.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the parry only works for the lower-level enemy, which that means, if the player is level 10 they can parry a level 1-3 enemy but if the enemy is level 10, players will always fail to parry.

Now that players know about the parry, how to do it? Parry is all about finding the right timing which can be hard as in Enshrouded, the timing for Parry is way earlier than any other games. If players want to parry it is recommended to watch the enemies attack and when they start their attack animation use the parry button. Don’t wait for the attack to come near you as that will be too late for parry. It is best to try to parry with every weapon as players will get accustomed to the mechanic.

Riposte is a multiplier that players can get so that they can deal 5 times the damage when the enemy is staggered. Players need to level their shield and get the merciless attack on their shield to deal the riposte damage during the staggered period.

That is all you need to know about how to parry and what is stagger and riposte in Enshroued. If you find this guide helpful, you can check out our website for more detailed guides and news about Enshrouded and various other games.
