Elden Ring’s weather system brings the rain and shines to the game. While the change in weather may seem harmless, it can affect certain spells or attributes. If you are keen to use your new fire spell or deal fire damage with your new Ash of War, you will be pleasantly surprised that these don’t work while it’s raining. You can still cast them, but it won’t deal the amount of damage you are looking for, since they get extinguished quite easily. You can benefit from the rain in other ways. Lighting spells or attributes deal more damage than usual while using it during the rains.
There is a special weather element called Golden Light. If you venture deep into the Lands Between, you might come across certain areas that have golden-colored papery thin objects falling from the sky. These golden objects happen to fall at random times at random areas and give a boost in Runes obtained. So if you are looking to get more Runes, this is one of the easiest ways to do so.
