The Elden Beast is the final God boss that you will encounter, and the final obstacle to defeat to reach the Elden Throne. Even if you wish to not take other the throne to unlock one of the secret endings, you will still have to defeat it for the Greater Will to be eradicated. You can find the Elden Beast at the Elden Throne Site of Grace, immediately upon defeating Radagon of the Golden Order. To defeat this large entity, you can refer to the tips below.
- Multiplayer and Summons are allowed here, so being your best Spirit Ash and a strong ally
- Aim for the bright spot on its stomach, as you can deal extra damage there
- It is immune to Bleed and resistant to Holy damage, and if you do use Holy damage it will benefit from it by healing itself.
- It is also resistant to all other status effects
- It will use a lot of Holy attacks, so come equipped with Lord’s Divine or Divine Fortification, and maybe a Haligdrake Talisman.
- The Elden Beast is slow and will take time for its charge up animation to complete, giving it ample time to hit its weak spot
- Any spell that uses AOE like Comet Azur will help take down some of its HP.
- Any melee weapon that has ranged/launch skills will help you toss your weapon at it since the Elden Beast can dodge close-range attacks.
- As much as possible, stay behind it at all times and the time your roll for when it takes a swipe. You can also evade most of its magic attacks this way
- It will take a dive and reappear elsewhere, so stay alert and dodge its ranged attacks
- Anytime it raises its sword, get far away from it as it will either slam it to the ground or swipe with it
- If you do get caught in the sword swipe, roll against it just when it lands.
- Anytime it starts glowing, keep running as far away from it.
Once it is defeated, it will drop 500000 Runes, and in the subsequent New Game Plus playthrough, it will grant you 1000000 Runes the first time and 1100000 Runes for the second. You will also get the Elden Remembrance and access to the Elden Throne.
