Candace has already been officially teased through her splash art by Genshin Impact and she’s releasing in the upcoming Version 3.1 update. She’s a 4-star Hydro unit who wields a polearm and she has connections to King Deshret (or the Scarlet King) we’ve heard so much about in Version 3.0 Archon Quests. Her kit and constellations have already been leaked but in this article, we’ll discuss her early impressions from players who’ve played her in Version 3.1 Beta testing.
Candace Early Impressions from Genshin Impact Version 3.1 Beta
The main utility of Candace lies in her Hydro infusion. Her normal attack buff isn’t as great as that of Yun Jin but Hydro is a valuable and versatile element so the infusion can be valuable but only situationally. Characters who don’t want infusion or characters who have in-built elemental infusions might suffer from this effect.
Building her is easy due to the abundance of HP% artifacts and she’s definitely more flexible than Nilou in terms of her gameplay. According to the leakers, she also benefits from Hydro Resonance so an extra Hydro unit in the team would make up for her ER needs and give that extra bonus HP% buff from the Hydro resonance.
Because of a counter mechanic in her kit similar to Beidou’s she can again ignite players to be more proactive and predict enemy attacks to time their blocks. We still don’t know how strong her counters are going to be but chances are she can be utilised in both dps and support roles.
Overall, players in the beta say she’s a solid complete unit despite the occasional nerfs to her kit. She brings new potential team synergies and could work very well with some of the existing units but chances are she’ll get better teammates in the future who will need her kit.
