Dying Light 2 is one of the most awaited games since the devs declared the title a few years back. The game has finally launched and aside from a few crashes, the game looks as amazing as promised. But, some of you may want to know the save and the config file locations of Dying Light 2 for a variety of reasons.
You may want to create a backup of the save or want to edit some settings through the config file. The in-game menu provides you little flexibility over the controls, but with the config file, you can change a lot. Sometimes, the game crashes and settings change can fix it. These are some of the cases we can think of when the Dying Light 2 Save and Config File Locations may be required. Here are the locations.
Dying Light 2 Save and Config File Locations
The Dying Light 2 config file location is the same as most games and quite easy to get to, but the save file may be a bit complicated. Here is how to find both files.
Dying Light 2 Config File Location
The Dying Light 2 config file can be found in your Documents folder. You can find it directly from the explorer or follow the below path.
C: /Users/ (Username)/Documents/DyingLight2/out/settings
Once you get into the settings file, you will find the audio and video files that require the Notepad++ application to open. If you do not have Notepad++ installed, you won’t be able to open the files and it will appear as shown in the image below.
If you have the Notepad++ installed and are still unable to open the file. Then, right-click on the video file > choose Edit with Notepad++
Dying Light 2 save File Location
If you found the config file location, you already know the location of the Dying Light 2 save files. You just need to back out from the config files to the location:
C: /Users/ (Username)/Documents/DyingLight2/out/save_backups
So, these are the locations where you can find both the save and the config files. Additionally, you can also find the logs here in case there is a crash or some issue.
I am not seeing any dying light 2 folder in my documents as well. I am trying to update the settings from outside the game since it doesn’t save my video settings upon restart,
That’s odd and I have no idea why that is. Let me update once I ask in my circle.
Don’t mind me btw, I found an alternative solution. Giving the app controlled folder access followed by a restart solved the problem.
Can you help me fix it?
My game is not auto-saved
Hi,
Do you want to know how to provide controlled folder access to the game? Here are the steps:
1. In the Windows Search, find Controlled folder access
2. Click on Allow an app through Controlled folder access
3. Click on Add an app and browse and add the game executable.
You can also simply toggle off the Controlled folder access but at your own risk.
After setup as your guide. But my game has not auto-saved. I don’t know when the game begins to save the first time to check it
Yeah, I have the same issue that whole folder doesn’t exist even if i try searching the PC
There’s no folder
which folder?
