The events of “Hogwarts Legacy” take place in the Harry Potter wizarding universe and are set in the late 1800s, a very long time before the original books and movies’ events. As a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, players explore a sizable open world, learn magic spells, and learn the mysteries of the wizarding community.
Hyped fans of the Harry Potter series are intrigued to know whether Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of the wizarding school of Hogwarts, appear in Hogwarts Legacy. So that brings us to our main question.
Does Dumbledore appear in Hogwarts Legacy?
Sad to be the bearer of bad news, but the beloved character Albus Dumbledore is one of the game’s noteworthy omissions. He doesn’t appear in “Hogwarts Legacy,” despite being one of the most important individuals in the wizarding world.
The original novels and movies, where Dumbledore played a pivotal role in mentoring Harry Potter and the rest of the wizarding world, marked a substantial break from this. But there are a number of reasons why Dumbledore was left out of the game, despite the fact that many Harry Potter fans may be dissatisfied.
First off, the game is set in the year 1890. According to the franchise lore, Dumbledore became a student two years after that. Thus during the game, Dumbledore is still a kid. Secondly, rather than existing characters from the Harry Potter universe, “Hogwarts Legacy” focuses on the player character and their quest.
Having Dumbledore as a character would have detracted from the ability for players to craft their own stories while making decisions and travelling through the globe at their own speed. This is because Dumbledore’s backstory would give the game a linear aspect, which would contradict the game’s open-world aspect.
However, there might be a chance that Hogwarts Legacy adds a DLC that adds familiar faces including our beloved Albus Dumbledore. There has not been any confirmation regarding this, and hence this is just a presumption on our part.
