Elden Ring runs at 60fps out of the box. You cannot change the frame rate limit to anything above the set target no matter what you do. And, that is extremely stressful and annoying if you are using a high refresh rate panel like say a 144Hz or a 120Hz monitor. But, the modding community has showered their love for the game, and we already have a 60fps unlocker available on the internet.
More About the Framerate Unlocker Mod
The fan-made mod that unlocks the framerate is not officially supported by the game. It is free to download, so you do not have to shove in extra money for extra frames.
And, the best part of this mod is that it supports both Steam and the not-so-legit versions of the game. So, if you are among the pirates on the internet, you will have zero hassles in getting it installed on your PC.
The mod is a RAM patch, and it does not modify any files. So, you have the extra peace of mind that it won’t end up banning you from the game servers. It will help you to run the game at the maximum frame rate your hardware is capable of.
But, there are a few limitations to the mod. You cannot use it while going online and playing the multiplayer mode of it. So, you need to run the game in offline mode to unlock the framerate.
If you have a 60Hz panel, unlocking the refresh rate will not push your framerate past 60fps. You need to have hardware that is capable of higher framerates to use this workaround.
Also, the mod is only supported in the borderless windowed mode. In fullscreen modes, it simply does not work. The game forces the monitor to 60fps while running in the exclusive fullscreen mode. And that breaks the mod.
Besides unlocking your framerate, the mod also supports increasing or decreasing your Field of View (FOV).
