There are a number of graphics options that, if altered, may increase FPS while not affecting the look of the game if you play Star Wars Zero Company on your PC. All graphics options do not affect FPS; hence, there is no need to turn them all to low levels. In this guide, we’ll go through the most important settings and show you which ones you should change for a good balance between performance and visual quality.

Best Optimization in Star Wars Zero Company

There are not too many settings for graphics in Star Wars Zero Company that give a big boost in performance. All that you need is to set a proper upscaling and to lower some of the heavy settings. The configuration with medium settings with some of the settings being manually tweaked can help you get a much better balance compared to just changing all of them to low.

With the correct setting configuration, it will be easy to get a good boost in performance while the game will still look good. Once everything is updated, open the game and go to Options > Graphics. From here, you can adjust the settings to get a good balance between image quality and performance.

Display Settings

Begin with the basic graphics settings. When setting up Windowing Mode, Borderless Windowed will serve most people well. It provides convenience in switching from the game to other software. Another option for Windowing Mode is Fullscreen.

Choose the appropriate Resolution to match that of your monitor. When setting the Frame Rate Limit, choose Unlimited. But if you are recording or live-streaming while having other software fight for the system’s resources, lowering the FPS slightly below your typical in-game one would work fine.

As for VSync, this setting has to be off. Turn it on only when screen tearing occurs. As for Brightness and HDR, these settings depend on the user’s preferences.

Upscaling Settings

Upscale is definitely the most important setting in terms of performance in Star Wars Zero Company. The game provides some of these options, among which are FXAA, TAA, TSR, DLSS, FSR, and XeSS. With an Nvidia graphics card, you should definitely go with DLSS. Otherwise, it would be reasonable to consider FSR as a substitute.

For most users, Quality mode will be the best initial setting. There you will receive a considerable improvement in FPS without losing image quality too significantly. If you play at 1440p or 4K and require additional FPS, use Balanced mode. It allows decreasing internal resolution and getting additional FPS.

In case you require a native resolution image, you can apply FXAA or TAA with a resolution scale set at 100%. However, native anti-aliasing in this game might seem unstable or flickery to some extent, and, therefore, it is preferable to apply an upscaler. In the case of a 1440p system, use DLSS or FSR in Quality mode.

Frame Generation

Frame Generation helps increase your FPS count on the screen; however, it does not help overcome high input lag due to a low base FPS. Thus, do not use Frame Generation when your game runs with a low FPS count. It is more effective to use Frame Generation when your game already has a good FPS rate like 80+, and you just need some extra frames for your high refresh rate monitor.

When your base FPS is between 30-50, Frame Generation will give you a good FPS number, but your game will be slow. If you use an Nvidia graphics card, enable Nvidia Reflex Low Latency. For weak CPUs, use Enabled + Boost.

Graphics Quality Settings

The game provides four main presets:

  • Ultra
  • High
  • Medium
  • Low

The difference between Ultra, High, and Medium can have a noticeable impact on performance. On the other hand, changing from Medium to Low might give you no extra FPS but make your game much worse graphically.

That is why it is best to start with the Medium settings if you need to improve performance but do not want to lose too much quality. Having selected Medium, you will be able to change settings manually depending on their influence on the performance.

Reflection Quality

Reflection Quality is one of the biggest settings to adjust if you need more FPS. There are many reflections in Star Wars Zero Company, especially on metal surfaces. The Ultra level may be quite heavy, while Medium offers a much better combination of performance and quality.

Shadow Quality

Another setting which might give you a performance boost is Shadow Quality. When reduced from Ultra to Low, it does not seem to remove away too much shadow detail, and rather than anything else, gives you an extra boost in performance. If you want more frames per second, Shadow Quality should definitely be reduced to Low.

Hidden Object Details

The setting will give you two choices: Simplified and Full. Change the setting to Full. It will be especially useful in the middle of the game when the setting affects the way objects disappear while you try to see what is going on behind buildings, bridges, or other objects.

If you select Simplified, then parts of the object such as roofs or flags may still remain visible and obstruct your view. In the Full mode, it will be easier for you to see what is behind the object.

Shading Quality

Quality Shading does not create a major difference but may influence the game’s performance rather significantly. It may be decreased to Low to gain FPS, which makes it one of the best options to lower to increase performance. If you need more FPS, you should try to lower this setting first.
