Choosing the right Operators can make a big difference in Star Wars Zero Company. Each named Operator has their own abilities, strengths, and playstyle, so some will naturally be more useful than others in certain situations. As you progress through the campaign, you’ll unlock several unique characters who can join your squad. In this guide, we’ll go through the best Operators in Star Wars Zero Company and explain what makes each one worth using.
Best Operators in Star Wars Zero Company
Named Operators are notable individuals who have their unique abilities and skills. These characters will become available for you as you proceed in the game. Not all of them are equal. Some operators will become more noticeable than others because of their abilities and effectiveness. We have grouped them into various tiers based on this information.
S Tier
- Tel-Rea
- Jae
These are some of the strongest named Operators and are great choices for your squad.
A Tier
- Hawks
- Kabb
These Operators are also very strong and can perform well in a variety of situations.
B Tier
- Luco
- Cly
They are useful additions to your team but may not be as strong or versatile as the higher-tier Operators.
C Tier
- Trick
Trick can still be useful in the right situation, but he generally offers less than the Operators placed in the higher tiers.
Tel-Rea

Tel-Rea is a skilled Jedi who becomes a reliable member of your team during the campaign. Your first encounter with Tel-Rea happens during Cycle 7: Dark Waters. Tel-Rea will join your team after completing the Jedi Undercover/Smugglers’ Den main quest line.
Tel-Rea is a Padawan who can cope with melee and ranged combat without difficulty. Apart from being a good warrior, Tel-Rea has Force powers such as Force Push and Force Pull that allow you to manipulate the positioning of enemies.
Her main ability, Strong with the Force, allows Tel-Rea to get stacks of Harmony at the beginning of every turn, increasing her lightsaber deflection and attack power as well as empowering her abilities.
Improving this ability allows Tel-Rea to get Harmony faster and develop her powers fully. The trick with Tel-Rea is that the more Harmony you have when using your most effective abilities, the more damage you do to your enemies, so try to get them all before activating these abilities. The more Harmony she has, the more powerful she becomes, so take some time to build her up before going all out.
Jae

Jae is a baroness who needs your assistance to fight the Infinite Coil faction. However, do not be deceived by her noble status; she is as ruthless as all other characters. You can recruit Jae after completing Cycle 3: In Debt to the Hutts.
She is an impressive officer who deals considerable damage and is suitable for almost any combat situation. The most valuable skill is Final Shot because it gives you the possibility of helping in an attack and finishing low-health enemies without spending your Action Points.
It is much easier to destroy weakened enemies without spending your turn. Improving this skill makes it even more valuable because it increases the amount of health required for activation and the number of uses during your turn.
Because of the usefulness of this skill, Final Shot is always among your top priorities for upgrading. Jae is an extremely dependable character, and you will need to use her whenever you have a chance.
Hawks
Hawks’ Fearless Leader talent gives your entire squad a useful boost. While Hawks is active in the game, every member of your team gains additional +1 Assist Damage. It doesn’t sound much initially, yet it really does help your team in the fight. Further improvements to this talent will result in increased bonuses to the Assist Damage and Defence.
There is also an ability unique to Hawks – Pico-5. It allows your hero to give an additional Action Point (AP) to another member of the team by consuming Advantage. It will be quite helpful when there is a necessity to deal with one more AP to defeat your opponent or perform a crucial action. This ability can be used in every turn of the game.
Kabb

Kabb is an aggressive Felshi who used to be a criminal before joining Zero Company, where Trick, just like him, becomes a member of your unit at the start of the game campaign. Kabb is a strong melee fighter and should preferably deal with enemies in close quarters. Properly built, he can dish out considerable damage and take enemies down in no time.
One of Kabb’s most powerful skills is called Uppercut. Whenever Kabb kills an enemy using this skill, he regains Action Points and is able to keep attacking without losing his turn. Further upgrades of Uppercut raise its damage and add enemy knockback.
In the course of upgrading Kabb, try concentrating on enhancing melee damage. Bring him to close proximity to enemies and use his most powerful skills, finishing off enemies with Uppercut whenever possible. All you have to do is keep him close, hit hard and use Uppercut to continue the assault.
Luco

Luco is an Umbaran sniper whom you have to recruit reluctantly into your team in the Casualties of War portion of the mission. There are three missions in this sequence, and Luco is added to your squad during this period.
Luco is a very effective sniper who deals heavy damage from afar. In addition, he boasts excellent accuracy, thus making him a good choice for dealing with enemies prior to any close confrontation.
Moreover, some of his abilities provide him with perfect accuracy, which can be vital in certain situations where he has to land an important shot. Luco’s primary ability, namely Sharpened Senses, provides him with stacks of increased probability of hitting enemies. With each level gained, Luco receives additional stacks, thus making each of his shots more effective.
This ability perfectly combines with Luco’s base damage output. As long as you keep Luco at a relatively safe distance from the enemy and provide him with a good position to shoot, he becomes an extremely strong source of damage in your team.
Cly

Cly is a member of the Mandalorian faction and one who is searching for her bounty targets. In the course of our playthrough, she was located in the Den area at the beginning of Cycle 13. As previously mentioned, Cly is primarily a support hero who, however, possesses incredible mobility skills that can be used to control the battlefield and enemy positions. Additionally, Cly is capable of stunning enemies and applying different buffs and debuffs in order to support your other heroes.
The primary ability of Cly is known as Combat Jump. This ability enables Cly to take advantage of her jetpack and make a jump to a chosen spot on the field. On landing, Cly can force all nearby enemies to lose their positions and place a Burn debuff on them that causes continuous damage.
An upgraded version of the same skill will allow Cly to increase her jumping distance and apply additional Burn stacks. Overall, Cly makes a perfect choice when you need a hero who will be able to both support you and disrupt your opponents.
Trick

Trick is a Clone Trooper who had been working with Hawks before. Since they are both no longer serving in the army of the Galactic Republic, they both agreed to become mercenaries and do jobs on the side. Trick is exceptionally skilled at dealing with many enemies at once. In general, he will be able to handle himself pretty well with area-of-effect abilities and such utilities as grenades.
For My Brothers is his unique ability, which allows him to survive even if he gets downed and automatically comes back to life at the beginning of his next turn. This ability can protect Trick from being removed from the game; therefore, he must always try to upgrade this ability.
Trick owns a rocket launcher that allows dealing great damage with a wide splash radius. It is great for dealing with numerous enemies. One should try to keep Trick relatively close to the action since this will allow him to make use of his grenades and abilities. With several enemies bunched up, Trick will be especially good at dealing with many of them at once.
