During the gameplay showcase, it is shown that the player can equip and use Unforgivable Curses, and also practice using them in the Dark Arts Battle Arena. It is speculated that you can learn these curses if you befriend a fellow Slytherin, Sebastian Sallow. Following through with Sebastian’s questline will allow you to learn and execute these curses. Initially, he might just teach you the Cruciatus curse, but you can quickly pick up the Imperius Curse and Killing Curse as well.
The curses work the way they are intended to in the Harry Potter books and movies, but there seems to be a slight change in the way the Imperius Curse works in Hogwarts Legacy. While Imperio is usually shown to bring the victim under the caster’s control, in the game it works a bit differently. While under Imperio, the target will be an ally to the caster and will help them in battle. They will receive reduced damage from other enemies, thus improving their longevity in battle.
