Genshin Impact Version 3.1 is out with its new event- the Wind Chaser Challenge. Here players have to challenge and clear special domains that are filled with coins, puzzles and a few monsters too. It’s a lighthearted rerun event from Mondstadt so players will surely enjoy the nostalgia.
The event unlocks 1 stage for each day for up to 5 days and rewards players with 80 Primogems each day just for clearing the domain so be sure not to miss it. Other rewards include Mora, Mondstadt Talent Books, Hero’s Wit and Mystic Enhancement Ore.
The event lasts till the 31st of October, 2022 and players have to be at least AR 20 to take part in the event. Thus there’s lots of time for players to speedrun it after all the stages are unlocked.
Wind Chaser Event Overview in Genshin Impact 3.1
The Wind Chaser event domains are called Galezones and it’s because they come equipped with strange devices that manipulate the wind. They either serve as a detriment against advancing players or they can act as an aid for players to move further ahead using the mechanisms.
Once you reach the domain marked on the map, you can begin your challenge. The goal is to collect wind coins and Anemo particles within the given time constraints and finally clear the domain by reaching the destination pillar which you have to come in contact with to clear the domain.
The wind coins are spread across the Galezone and players have to use their wit to get to the difficult places. Players can get more wind coins by defeating the monsters within. Generally. collecting 25 wind coins gets you a clear on one of the challenges of the domain which gets you more rewards.
The second challenge is completing 3 time-gated Anemo particle collection challenge. These challenges begin once you collect the first Anemo particle and then several others pop up which you have to quickly collect before the timer runs out. To easily complete these challenges, players have to set up the mechanisms to blow air in the right directions first before beginning the challenge. Speaking of mechanisms, here are all the devices the Traveler can interact with to manipulate the wind flow and air currents within the domain.
Galezone Devices
The Snagwind Nexus is usually the one blocking your way so you’ll first have to use the Windstopper Hub to shut down all air currents nearby. You can then reach the Snagwind Nexus to interact with it as per your needs. Most of the time you’ll want the air currents to point upwards to get to the higher platforms and coins.
The Windchurner Nexus simply increases the AoE of nearby air currents which not only aids in flight but also interacting with the platforms themselves. The different kinds of platforms in Galezones are also discussed below.
Galezone Platforms
There are essentially two kinds of Galezone Platforms- Windward Terrace and Driftwind Platform. These are both affected by wind currents. While one tilts sideways the other flies up. Players can use these to get to the tricky areas and get their coins and Anemo particles for their challenges.
Of course, there’s no correct way here and players can solve and clear these puzzles in multiple ways. Some character skills also come in handy but they will have their CDs increased so that players don’t abuse them to easily clear the Galezones. Some of these are Venti’s and Kazuha’s E skill. Players can also use constructs like Zhongli’s E or Geo Traveler’s E to get up on slightly higher platforms. Other useful characters are Xiao, Keqing and Albedo. We also recommend players have double Anemo in their team for the bonus Movement SPD.
This challenge can also be attempted in co-op with one other teammate so if you have a best friend on your list- call them over and enjoy clearing the domain together. There’s no score board or ranking so it’s a chill event all players can enjoy.
