Madden 23 is set to launch on the 19th of Aug, but the game is very much in progress as players who preordered the game get a three days head start. And like it’s become customary, the Madden 23 again this year has a serious bug. Madden 23 Free Agency bug in Franchise Mode is bad and it’s not going away any time soon with EA not introducing any day-one patch. So, when the game finally launches on the 19th, it will still have the bug that will make life difficult.
If you remember, we created a bug tracker for Madden 22 and tracked over 105 bugs in the game until we gave up. Comparatively, this year has been better, but the Franchise Mode is again bugged. Franchise Mode is one of the most loved modes of the game and the devs seem to keep spoiling it for players.
For those who are still unaware or have not progressed enough to encounter the Madden 23 Free Agency Bug, here is what you need to know.
Some of the highlighting features of the current iteration of Madden NFL was the Free Agency Mode that promised more strategic functionality with the improved player tag and motivation system, but something has gone horribly wrong and the CPU teams aren’t behaving as intended. Users on Twitter have highlighted that the CPU teams are not signing their marquee players.
Like last year’s franchise mode bug, it seems EA is again turning a deaf ear to the entire situation. There is no acknowledgment from EA or any promise of a fix. With no day-one patch, it’s almost clear that users who jump to play the game on launch will also run into the Free Agency bugs.
So far the bug is not very widespread or just not reported as much due to the number of players on the game. When the game launches on the 19th of Aug, we may see more reports, and maybe EA will comment on the issue and an ETA on the fix will arrive.
We will keep an eye on the issue and update the post when EA decides to acknowledge the issue or if there is a workaround.
