The beloved FPS game, Call of Duty, has been known since its first launch that there are many bugs to be fixed. Warzone is no exception, as players are finding an error code that has been carried down since the time of Modern Warfare. Fans of the battle royale are getting a strange pop-up on PC, either while in-game or when they try to start the game. Some players have compared it to Error Code 38 since it similarly kicks them out of a game. If you are getting a string of code that hasn’t been verified as a “known issue” by Activision yet, you can follow the steps below.
How to Fix Scan and Repair Error in Warzone
You can try the below steps if you keep getting kicked out of a session repeatedly.
- Re-launch the game.
If the error code is persistent, restart your system, then try re-launching the game. Alternatively, you can uninstall and reinstall the game too.
- Do an actual Scan and Repair.
Sometimes if the file is missing or corrupted, the error code shows up. In that case, open your gaming client and select Warzone. Then, go to Options and select Scan and Repair.
- Scan and Repair your system.
On your keyboard, find the Windows key and open up your taskbar search. Type in CMD and select “Run as Administrator”. Once you get the command prompt window, type “sfc /scannow”. Now you just have to wait for it to finish, restart your device, and then try to run the game.
- Check your graphics driver.
You will have to check your graphics driver if it is up to date or not. You can check through your manufacturer or by online means by downloading a graphics driver reader to check the authenticity.
- Check the official website or social media for updates.
There might be server maintenance or a bug they are trying to fix, so you would be facing difficulties playing the game for some time. You can check r/CODWarzone, @CallofDuty, or @RavenSoftware to keep up to date with what is happening in-game.
If all else fails, you can contact support as a last resort to help with the game error and to find out more about the bug. Till then, players would just have to sit back and wait to see if the developers have taken notice of the error and if they are working on any sort of fix.
