Queen bees are quite rare, but you can get them if you’ve been playing for a while now. As you explore the map, you’ll be coming across a lot of beehives on trees. As you chop down the trees, the beehive will fall to the ground and you can pick it up. The buzzing sound will tell you that the bees are still active. There are a couple of things that you can do with the beehive.
You can pick it up and place it on your head, to carry it back to your establishment, and sell it to John. The shopkeeper will pay you about 10,000 Dinks for it. Or, you can break it open with a weapon to reveal the bees and honey inside. Make sure to have a bug net ready to catch the bees before they fly away. Bees in Dinkum are not aggressive and will not attack you.
As for the queen bee, there is a slim chance that one of the bees that emanate from the hive will be the queen bee. If you do get her, and catch her with the bug net, you can finally build the bee house and farm honey. You might also find her in the wild, it’s happened once in our playthrough.
You will get honey from every beehive, which you can sell for 3,100 Dinks or use for 15 Energy.
