Hardwood is one of the things that you will need a lot in the game, so it’s a good idea to have a large reserve of it.

To get hardwood, you will actually need to unlock a specific area of the game. This is called the Glade of Trust, which is on the bottom left corner of your map. You will need to unlock the area and explore it completely. In order to do this, you need 5000 Dreamlight. There are some quests that you will need to complete in the Glade of Trust area. After this is complete, the area is unlocked for you to explore freely.
