Black Diamonds are required to unlock fast travel. During the early stages of the game, you would have noticed the Mapstone needs some repairing done with the help of Black Diamonds. You can get Black Diamonds in the following ways
- Defeat Goblins and Orcs: These enemies will be encountered very early in the game, so if you have some good weapons, have a go at them. The drop rate for Black Diamonds from Goblins and Orcs depends on RNG, so you have to take your chances that you won’t always get the item.
- Unlock Orc Chests: Usually you will spot Orc Chests in Goblins and Orcs camps within and after the Elven Quarters. If you do find the chest, you can use a key that is dropped from these enemies or just use a Steel Pickaxe. Once you break into the chest, you might find Black Diamonds. Again, it depends on RNG
- Mining: As you explore deeper into the Mines of Moria, you will find Black Diamond mines. If you have the right equipment, you can start mining them to gather enough Black Diamonds.
- Hoard Events: Hoard events are a great way to get various resources, and the Black Diamond is one of them. You can unlock this event after repairing the Great Forge of Narvi and making loud noises across the mines to start the event
