Overwatch 1 will shut down soon as today is the last day players can play before making way for Overwatch 2. Downtime should take about 27 hours, and during this time, Blizzard will prepare the final steps to get things ready for Overwatch 2 launch. Oonce servers come back online, Overwatch 2 will have replaced Overwatch 1.
Blizzard Entertainment developed and published Overwatch, a multiplayer first-person shooter video game. It was made publicly available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows on May 24, 2016. Overwatch 2 is the sequel of Overwatch 1 and releases on October 4th, 2022, while the servers for Overwatch 1 will shut down at midnight UTC time (2 PM EST).

Overwatch 1 Shut Down
Overwatch 1 will be replaced by Overwatch 2 after the server downtime is over. It will be free to play and will include all of the new characters, maps, game modes, and other perks that come with it.
On October 3, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. PDT for US West Coast and midnight EDT for US East Coast, the servers for Overwatch will be shut down. For the UK, this will be at 5:00 p.m. from BST, while it will be 6:00 p.m. CEST for Europe on the same date. Unlike other games, Blizzard will shut down Overwatch 1 before the beginning of the free-to-play sequel.
Blizzard has said that the above-mentioned times are only approximate – so it’s possible that you might be able to get in one or two more sessions after the given time. Nevertheless, it’s still worth trying to get some final playtime in now. Also, it’s important to know that as an owner of the original Overwatch, you will receive the Founder’s Pack – which unlocks new hero Kiriko and gives you access to all other heroes.
