The teaser video for Sumeru gave us a sneak peek at what the Dendro Traveller might look like. The most we saw was of them using their elemental skill on enemies and applying the Dendro status on them. While we don’t have their damage numbers, players can expect the Traveller to be underpowered compared to other Dendro 5-stars and 4-stars. Speculations hope that the Dendro Traveller, just like the electro one, will be a reaction enabler with a versatile support kit.
What We Know About the Dendro Traveller in Genshin Impact
The Dendro Traveller will most likely be a versatile support unit- though underpowered damage-wise as the Traveller kits usually are. We have already seen their elemental skill in action which seems to shoot out 4-5 ranged Dendro attacks that damage multiple enemies and affect them with the Dendro element.
A trustable leak says his elemental burst will put down an object similar to Lisa’s elemental burst (as seen in the Sumeru teaser) and it will have varying effects based on the elements that come to react with it. When this object is affected by the Hydro element it will shoot out its attacks at a farther range. Similarly when it comes into contact with Electro, it increases the speed or rate of attacks from the object. If the object interacts with Pyro then it explodes similar to Pyro slimes- most likely dealing AoE Dendro damage.
The Dendro Traveller will be useful to have in your party as you begin your exploration of Sumeru. As the developers have stated, Sumeru will contain plenty of area-specific gameplay which will require the application of or reaction with Dendro. Since there aren’t any Dendro playable characters in the game, players are stuck with the Dendro Traveller until they get one. Players can only hope he’s a decent unit until then.
