How to increase Influence?

As with all other Capacities, your starting point for Influence is your base value. However, your rank determines how much extra output you can generate. Countries are ranked by comparing their Prestige value to others in the game. Prestige considers several factors, including GDP, military power projection, and country tier.

The amount of influence a nation has is based on many factors, including the number of days since the last update and any modifiers that have been applied. These modifiers can be either positive or negative and are cumulative – so a -50% modifier and a +75% modifier would result in a +25% net gain to daily influence. Once a great power has 100 influence over another nation, any further influence investments will be spent on reducing the influence reserves of competing for great powers.

The happiness of different interest groups can have an effect on your Influence. For example, the Landowners group has a +5 happiness rating, which activates the Family Ties trait and gives you a 10% bonus to Influence.
