As you progress through the game and complete missions while killing other Vampires, you will notice that a special meter gets filled up. This is your indication of an oncoming Rook attack, and the more vampires you slay, the more the meter gets filled up. The Rook will announce their arrival by zapping you with an AoE thunder attack which will reduce your and your allies’ health. If you are having a hard time, there are a few things you can do to evade it.
- Fight in closed spaces – You should try and get the Rook inside buildings and fight them head-on, as having a roof over your head will help protect you from the oncoming storm. Just make sure that the enclosure is not too small and cramped, which will make fighting difficult.
- Use Legendary Weapons – Weapons in the gold tier are best to use against the Rook and kill it to stop the storm. A gold-tier Stake Launcher is enough to bring it down with a few hits
- Work as a Team: Of course, you have to kill the Rook to stop the storm, so working together in a team will help you achieve this goal quickly. Make sure that everyone on your team has purple or gold-tier weapons to kill it, and don’t hesitate to revive a fallen comrade first
- Be on the move: The Rook Storm will quickly wipe you out if you stay still, so always be on the move and get from building to building to effectively getaway
- Make use of Character abilities: Abilities like Devinder’s Translocator, Layla’s Umbrella Shield, and other weapons can come in handy to protect yourself and get away from the storm.
- Avoid fighting near other enemies: If other enemies are nearby, they will join the Rook, making the fight even harder. Find a clear space to lure the Rook, or fight it in an abandoned building.
