Like most weapons, you can obtain the Commando by scavenging, but there is no fixed place to get this item. You would have to explore all the sectors and unlock all the caches to get it. It can take a while to pass through this method, but there is another quicker way to obtain the Commando. You have to kill the Old Granny, aka The Beast, and take the weapon from her.
You can find the Old Granny in Ille Morat in D17 and help complete her questline. You can convince her to leave the Legion, and she will become a powerful ally when Ille Morat’s loyalty is maxed. Or you can kill her and loot the Commando from her body. If you pick the latter option, you will lose 15 Ille Morat loyalty, but you get the Commando. The Commando is customizable, giving you more flexibility to add attachments. Its base damage is 9, and it has 20 range and a 15% critical hit chance.
