The animals in AION 2 can not only be companions but can also act as your mounts for travel and give you many buffs as well. You can unlock various pets using Souls, by fulfilling their needs, or purchasing them via Premium Features. Each animal has its own Owned Effect that helps boost your character regardless of the other mounts. How to Unlock Pets
In AION 2, your pets will serve as your helpful mount companion. Your choice of pet will provide you with different bonuses, and there are a lot of pets available in the game for you to unlock. You can get some pets via premium items, while other pets can be unlocked through gameplay.
How to Unlock Pets
The pet system will be unlocked by you once you get to level 11. When the pet system becomes available, you will need to visit the main menu and select the Pets tab, where you will find all pets that are unlocked. Pets tab allows you to choose different groups of pets, namely Cognney, Farah, Nura, Varian, and Special. This means that there are some special conditions for unlocking each specific pet.
In addition to that, you will obtain a Permanent Owned Effect once the pet is unlocked. It means that even when you use other pets, those effects will work. For instance, you can get more stamina from one pet and increased movement speed for your mount from the other pet.
You may also locate the origin of the pet in the Pets section. Choose the appropriate pet or location to know what is needed and where to obtain it. You may also preview the appearance of the pet while riding it. Some pets are unlocked only through premium content like a Season Pass. How to Get New Pets
It is possible to unlock several pets by obtaining the required Souls. The Pets menu reveals which Souls you require and where you can obtain them. Choose the pet you wish to unlock and employ the location feature to get a vague idea of the area in which the Souls are found. In cases where you have not yet unlocked the map location in question, the location will remain invisible to you.
Upon arriving at the required location, identify the enemies or the creatures that drop Souls in their wake and defeat them to obtain the Souls. After collecting enough Souls, the pet will automatically unlock. You can then return to the Pets menu and equip your new pet.
How to Collect Souls for New Pets
All pets have a unique amount of Souls that you must obtain. For instance, there are certain pets whose acquisition requires five Souls. In order to get the Souls, you should go to the Pets menu and choose the desired pet. After that, you will be informed about the needed item and the place where you can find it.
Go there and kill the creatures that will give you Souls. Obtain the Souls from the fallen creatures until you acquire the necessary amount. After that, you will be notified that you have unlocked the pet and can now use it as your mount by equipping it from the Pets menu.
Note that unlocking a new pet means that you have obtained the Owned Effect from the pet. It is important because it allows you to keep getting the bonuses from your unlocked pets even if you are riding another mount.
