If you’ve already unlocked the deep mine, you might be wondering how to make the expensive Mine Pass worth it. This guide will take you through the process of how to prepare for the deep mine in Dinkum.
What Should You Take to the Deep Mine in Dinkum?
There are several strategies that you can use as you explore the deep mine. You will need to make the preparations before you go down there, because the Mine Pass is a one-time pass, and it doesn’t look cheap at 25,000 Dinks.
Weapons
We recommend that you take at least two weapons such as spears or bats which are level 2. Pickaxes should also be taken. You will need them to collect all the ore you find in the deep mine. It is the only place where you can get iron ore, so make sure to prioritize that. The next time you visit the mines, you can have iron tools, which hit harder and last longer.
Food
As for food, make sure to bring a huge stack of it. It can be of the same type, but it needs to replenish both stamina and health. You will need more stamina refills when you find a lot of ore at once, and you might need health refills when you’re attacked. Either way, you should carry some Cooked Croc Meat or Meat on a Stick which you can cook at the Cooking Table. If you want a stamina-only alternative, you can bring a lot of Cooked Bananas.
Other Items
When you’re metal detecting back on ground level, you will come across a lot of Old Keys. Never sell them. You will need them to open chests in the deep mine, so bring all of them when you go down there.

It’s dark in the deep mine, so you will need some sources of light. We recommend some torches and a flashlight. The flashlight will not only provide light, but can be used to stun enemies. You can run away if you’re not equipped to deal with the more powerful enemies that you will find there.
Make sure not to carry too much gold on you as you lose 10% of it in case you die. If you’ve unlocked the Bank, invest your money there.
