Precision is key. You will need to be exact with your movements and only then will the execution be flawless. There are seven different types of layups that players can use, and some of them are more challenging than others. It’s a good idea to be familiar with them first, as being a little off with your RS or LS pointing might result in the failure of a layup.
Here are all the layup packages that are available in NBA 2K23, and how to perform them:
- Cradle Layup: While driving, double tap Square and hold LS toward the ball hand. Or, while driving with the ball in your right hand, move RS left then quickly move and hold RS right.
- Euro Step Layup: While driving, double tap Square and hold LS toward off hand. You can also move RS right then quickly move and hold RS left while driving with the ball in your right hand.
- Floater Layup: While driving in close range, move and hold RS down.
- Hop Step Layup: While driving, tap Square. You can also move the RS either side, release, move and hold RS back in that same direction while driving.
- Normal Layup: While driving in close range, move and hold RS up.
- Quick Scoop Layup: While driving with LS, move and hold RS left or right.
- Reverse Layup: While driving along the right baseline, move and hold RS right.
