How to Go Back to the Slums in Stray

Stray is a game with a feline protagonist, who is a stray cat living in a city filled with robots and machines. Developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive, the single-player adventure game was released in July 2022. It was a highly anticipated game which was inspired by the Kowloon Walled City. Stray is available to play on PC, PS4 and PS5. In this guide, we will take you through the process of how to go back to the slums in Stray.

Stray: Can you Return to the Slums?

In Stray, you will need to follow a stray cat on its journey and navigate through a city filled with automated machines and robots. There are enemies as well, called the Zurks and Sentinels, which will try to kill you. With the narrative and backstory, as well as the beautiful scenery, the game was a hit and won several Game Awards.

You start by playing in the slums, but at a point in the narrative, you will need to leave the area. The question is, can you return to where you were? As you have progressed past the point where you need to stay in the slums, the game might not let you back in. However, there is a workaround to this, if you ever want to go back there.

While the game will not let you go back into the slums once you progress past a certain point in the story, you will be able to return there outside of the game. All you need to do is navigate to the Main Menu and select Start Game. You will be able to see the saves of your game.

Select the save that you want to play, and you will be prompted to Continue, Select Chapter, or Clear. By choosing the Select Chapter option, you will have the choice to select the Slums chapter and return to the slums. This is a great way to go back if you want to revisit it, or if you feel like you’ve missed some things.
