Dinkum is a farming game where you can plant crops, mine ores and do a lot more. You can also catch different types of fish and bugs and display them around your home or in a museum. The game is gaining popularity since its Steam Early Access release. As for rearing animals, you begin with Chooks, which are the Australian version of chickens. You’ll need a whistle to call your farm animals. So, in this guide, we’ll take you through the process of how to get a whistle in Dinkum.

The easiest way to call your farming animal is simply by using the keyboard emote function. On keyboard, press enter for the emotes to show up. Here you can select the whistle option when you are close to your farm animals. This will beckon them towards you and they will start to follow you.
You can also do this without opening up the emotes which is by equipping the whistle tool. This is an item that you can purchase in the game through Irwin. You’ll probably have met Irwin before when you bought your farm animals from him. He also sells whistles that you can buy.
Once you have purchased the whistle, you can equip it to call your farm animals to you. This is a slightly faster method, but it is more expensive. Also, if you don’t have Irwin as a permanent villager, you will need to wait for him to show up just so you can buy the whistle from him.
