In Action-adventure fighting games like Xenoblade Chronicles 3, weapons play an essential role. Without weapons, you can’t fight with the enemies to make your way forward. However, acquiring weapons is not enough; players need to upgrade those weapons from time to time so that the strength and abilities of the weapons become more strong. To upgrade weapons in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, players need to collect Origin Shards or Odd Shards. This guide will help you know how to get Odd Shards in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Odd Shards Guide-Where to Find?
If you have been playing the game and become confused about what Odd Shards are because weapon upgrade requires Origin Shards. So, let’s make it clear that Origin Shards are actually Odd Shards. After a certain point, the Odd Shards become Origin Shards. Odd Shards are required to upgrade weapons which will be unlocked after you complete the Uniting the Seven Nopon Quest.
Uniting the Seven Nopon quest can be received by talking to “Samon” at Sentridge Harbor Control in Cadensia Region. The primary objective of this quest is to locate the Nopons who can handle the “Ultimate Hammer,” which are only seven in the world. Samon is the first Nopon who can handle the “Ultimate Hammer.” So, players need to locate the remaining six Nopons. Once your quest is completed, you can upgrade your weapons using Origin Shards.
Except for this, Odd Shards (before transformed to Origin Shards) can be used to upgrade the weapons of all the characters and can be acquired by defeating the Unique Monsters in your first playthrough. Unfortunately, there is no other way to get Odd Shards in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
After they have become Origin Shards, players can still get them by defeating Unique Monsters in all locations. Below we have listed the Odd Shards and the Origin Shards to make them easier for you to understand-
- Odd Ringlike Shard- Round Origin Shard
- Off Pointy Shard- Rhomboid Origin Shard
- Odd Square Shard- Square Origin Shard
- Odd Round Shard- Toroidal Origin Shard
- Odd Oblong Shard- Rectangular Origin Shard
- Odd Six-Angled Shard- Hexagonal Origin Shard
- Odd Triangular Shard- Trigonal Origin Shard
These are the Odd Shards you find in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and later they will change into these respective Origin Shards. Players have to collect both by killing Unique Monsters and use them to upgrade weapons regardless of Odd Shards or Origin Shards.
