The only way you can evolve Yanma is after it learns the move Ancient Power. Yanma will learn this move after it crosses level 34, so if you have just caught a Yanma, you should level it up till it unlocks the Ancient Power move. If your Yanma is already at a high level but removed the move to replace it with something else, then you need to retrieve the Ancient Power move.
To do this, go to Yanma’s summary, select Moveset, press A, and select the Remember Moves option. You will get a list of all moves that Yanma has forgotten, and you can find the Ancient Power rock-type move here. Add it into Yanma’s abilities list, then level it up one time. You will soon get the evolution trigger and you can add Yanmega to your party.
After getting the evolution, you can either remove the Ancient Power move from Yanmega’s moveset, or keep it. You won’t require it anymore and you can make way for new abilities. Yanmega can now learn the Speed Boost skill, and also unlock the Frisk hidden ability.
