In Dinkum, you don’t need to walk to get around. You can simply teleport to each side of the map. However, you will need to find and activate the towers first, which need some exploration of their own. This guide will take you through the process of how to activate teleportation towers in Dinkum.
How to Unlock Teleportation in Dinkum
You might have come across one or more of the teleportation towers, only to receive cryptic messages about how it doesn’t work. If you interact with the box in front of it, you will have an option of placing items into the tower. These are items that you can find after you have progressed a bit in Dinkum.

Your starting island will probably have a tower, but it won’t be possible to activate the power of teleportation so early in the game. Activating one of them is not enough as you will need to transport from one teleportation tower to another. Thus, you need to have at least two of these towers repaired with the necessary materials.
Here are the materials that you need to repair a teleportation tower. Note that these are all green items, which can be dug up with the help of the metal detector.
- 3 Green Board
- 2 Hot Cylinder
- 1 Shiny Disc
- 8 Bright Wire
- 1 Smooth Slate
To get these items, you need to get the metal detector, which is a tool that you can buy from John once you have established him in his shop. The items will be available under the ground at random, but once you have enough of them you can activate at least two teleportation towers and use them to travel from one end of the map to another.
