How to Help the Talking Tree in Elden Ring
In Elden Ring, there are several hidden locations and wonders hidden in the massive world map, and the Talking Tree is one of them. While you might encounter it early in the game, you will not be able to talk to it if you haven’t spoken with a certain NPC and finished the quests. You will need to locate this quest-giver in order to talk to the tree.

To find the Talking Tree, you need to find Gatefront Ruins and travel southeast until you reach the northeast region of a telescope you will see on the path. If you attack the tree, it will reveal itself to be a character called Boc who you can interact with. After completing the dialogue with him, you need to head to Coastal Cave to find him again.
At the Cave, Boc will be waiting for you as an injured man, and reveal how other Demi-humans have robbed him. He will ask you to defeat his attackers and return what was stolen from him, which is a Sewing Needle. Once you complete the quest, and return the item to Boc, he will become a useful NPC who can tailor your items for you with his handy Sewing Needle.
Once Boc has healed, you can find him again in specific Sites of Grace such as the Lake-Facing Cliffs, East Ray Lucaria and the East Capital Rampart.
